On December 19, 2022, after years of hard-fought litigation, Plaintiffs have achieved final approval of a consumer class action settlement with Anheuser-Busch, LLC (“AB”). Plaintiffs filed their lawsuit against the brewing company on November 6, 2020, alleging that AB misleadingly labeled and advertised its Ritas™, Margarita, Mojito, Rosé, and Sangria beverages (the “Products”) as containing distilled liquor or wine, when they did not.
The settlement is valued by the Court at over $10,200,000 and provides monetary relief to over 750,000 consumers. As part of the settlement, AB has also agreed to modify its labeling, packaging, and advertising of the Products to clarify that the Products are only malt beverages and do not contain distilled spirits or wine.
