The lead plaintiff deadline is the last day that an investor may file a motion with the court requesting to be appointed as the lead plaintiff for that action. When a securities class action is initiated, the person who files the first action is required to publish notice announcing the filing. Anyone who wishes to lead the litigation on behalf of the class must thereafter file a motion to be appointed as lead plaintiff no later than 60 days after the notice was published.
