Faruqi & Faruqi Obtains Final Approval In Kona Beer Settlement On Behalf Of Consumers Valued By The Court At Over $13 Million
On February 6, 2020, Judge Beth Labson Freeman of the United States District Court for the Northern District of California granted final approval of a class-wide settlement involving Kona beer products. The settlement resolves a three-year long dispute challenging Craft Brew Alliance for misleadingly advertising its Kona beer brand as being brewed in Hawaii when the beer is brewed on the mainland. The settlement provides consumers with monetary reimbursements for their purchases of Kona beer and requires changes to Kona beers’ packaging. Faruqi & Faruqi, LLP represented Plaintiffs and the Class in the action. A copy of the Court’s Order can be found here.
