SEC Declines to Extend COVID-19 Related Filing Extensions
On June 26, 2020, the SEC issued an update regarding its efforts responding to COVID-19, which included an announcement that the 45-day grace period regarding certain public company filings due on or before July 1, 2020 would not be extended. The SEC’s decision was based on the recommendation by the Division of Corporation Finance that any further extension would be “unnecessary” due to the implementation of “business continuity plans” by market participants, which included a shift “to a more remote and distributed workforce.”
